Educational Tours

Monarch Conservation Farm is comprised of 12+ acres devoted to providing habitat for native birds, fireflies, frogs, bees, butterflies and hundreds of other less known inhabitants of our ecosystem. Native trees, plants and sustainably managed farmland are foundations for ending wildlife food deserts. You are invited to see how beautiful these plants, creatures and regeneration can be. Monarch Conservation Farm, in Silk Hope NC, can host tours during the growing season (April-October). Hands-on examples of how to grow small fruits and vegetables with neutral or positive environmental impacts and low inputs can also be the visit focus.

Seasonal Transplants

Vegetable, herb and flower transplants can be available in April/May and September/October. Transplant 6-packs include native and cultivated flowers that are wildly popular with butterflies and birds such as Goldfinches. Flowers include the Monarch caterpillar host plant Common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca), Echinacea and Tithonia (Mexican sunflower). Tomato, lettuce, kale, cabbage, sweet peppers, artichoke, parsley, chard, basil, and dill transplants can also be grown by request. Custom orders for the listed plants should be placed by January 10th of each year. Email monarchfarm24@gmail.com for pricing and terms.
